My tires hiss gently as I ride through the sand at the bottom of Cornfield Road toward Kelso Depot

I take an energy-bar-and-water break here and look north down toward Bluejay Mine where my bike is parked. From here, a small ribbon of Wild Horse Canyon Road is visible to the right, as is the Clark Mountain range in the distance.
