After a final mile and a half of washboard on Aiken Mine Road, I reach Kelbaker Road's pavement

I take a break here and see a car for the first time since leaving asphalt near Valley Wells yesterday afternoon. I remember stopping here 15 days ago on day one, trying to recover from heat exhaustion that was setting in on my way up Kelbaker Road.
